CliRIO - Climbing Route Information Ontology
Content
What's this?
The Climbing Route Information Ontology's purpose is to describe climbing areas, sectors
and routes. Especially GPS- coordinates of parking spaces and the
access to routes as well as the altitude of given locations.It also shows the
requirements of a route, in detail, what gear is needed and what skills the
climber should provide. Since every route has huge amount of different properties the ontology provides the possibility to inform the climber
about the exposure, the perfect weather for the special route, popularity,
suitability for beginner, quality of protection, attractivity and
family friendlyness.
Competency Questions
- Question 1: What's the {hardest|easiest} rout in a given climbing area and sector,
where the requirements are {gear x| skill y}?
- Question 2: In which climbing sector around a given area are the most routes of
the difficulty level between x and y?
- Question 3: What gear do I need to climb a given rout in a given area, how
many pitches does it consist of and how much time does it consume in average?
- Question 4: What are the GPS-coordinates of the {parking space | startingpoint}
at a given climbing area near a given location?
- Question 5: Where in a given location do I find a climbing area with
{exposure|atractivity|quality of protection|beginner-suitability|family-friendlieness}
that has the property {rain protected|sun|shade} with
{accesstime between min and max} and with the property
{steepness between min and max}?
- Question 6: Of which routesegments does a given route consist, what properties does this route
have {length | difficulty | exposition | rain protected|sun|shade} and what {equipment | skill}
